JACKFRUIT is the fruit of jack tree. The fruit grows both from the tree trunk and from the branches in the tree. The jackfruit is recognized as the largest tree fruit growing as big as 3 feet long and 18 inches wide and weighing up to 20kg. Jackfruit gets its name from the Portuguese “Jaca” in turn derived from the Malayalam word “Chakka”.
