AVOCADO is a bright green fruit with a large pit and dark leathery skin. The fruit has greenish or yellowish flesh with a buttery consistency and rich nutty flavour. It is also known as alligator pear and butter fruit. The name avocado derives from the Mexican word “Ahuacatl” which refers to a certain part of the male anatomy that the shape of it happens to resemble.
